irish singers

Celebrate St. Patrick’s day just a bit early with us! Everyone’s a bit Irish in March! Thursday, March 12th at 7:30 pm is the day to mark in your calendar. The singers perform traditional Irish and Irish-American music including contemporary pieces by Irish choral composers. This group has performed at the Celtic Fest in Chicago, the Sligo International Festival in Ireland, the Chicago Cultural Center, to name just a few. Register @ 630.483.4910

MAR 1st through MAR 14th: Poplar Creek Library is offering the Food For Fines program.

During this time you may bring in one can or box of food for each dollar (or part of a dollar) you have in fines. Your library record will be cleared UP TO $20.00 per card. This does NOT apply to patrons in Collections.

Paper products are also needed. We donate all items to the Hanover Township Food Pantry.

These are difficult times for many in our community. They need our help. You are always welcome to donate even if you have no fines.

Also, we’re accepting dog and cat food items for our furry neighbors. Animals are an important part of a family. So don’t let families have to give up their pets during this time.

Items that are dented, out-of date, opened or in any way not usable will NOT be accepted.

In addition to the list, we have a database available to patrons, NoveList, that can give great recommendations.

NoveList is a comprehensive source of information about fiction reading. This is an online database that patrons can access from home (with a library card) or at the library. This database provides:

          • reading recommendations

          • book awards
          • read-alikes
          • book discussion guides
