Using the Catalog
The Poplar Creek Library online catalog, eLibrary, offers a variety of ways to search our catalog including author, title, subject, and key word searching. Since our library is part of a consortium, the catalog offers users access to the holdings of other MAGIC libraries in our area. However, for ease of searching, holdings can be restricted to only those in the Poplar Creek Main and/or the Sonya Crawshaw Branch Library.
The online catalog may be searched both from within the library at dedicated catalog terminals near the Reference, Media, and Reader’s Advisory Desks and from your home computer by following the catalog link from our website. The “Items Detail” entry for each item may include information about the book – “A Look Inside” and a “Catalog Record” including more detailed information about the item, including subject headings, which can be used for further research. Searchers may also link to other items by using the “Find more by this author,” Find more on these topics,” or “Nearby items on shelf” tabs. The “Nearby items on shelf” tab is a useful browsing tool that shows items as they appear on the actual shelf near the item, which you have searched.
